Didn’t know what to take a picture of today…still not a fan of the “selfie”…

It’s been raining for days, and it has been so gloomy.
Thankfully, the sun decided to peak out and say “Hello” for a little while today. I love how the sun shines and reflects off wet surfaces. I had a moment to try and capture the beauty before it disappeared.

I can’t wait for the day I get an awesome camera set up with a true macro lens. Until then though, I’ll keep trying! :)
Not much happened today. Just hung around the house, relaxing.
Although, I’ve got to edit the photos for a wedding that I shot last weekend. I keep procrastinating…so I guess I better buckle down and get it done.

So, my story today has nothing to do with my photo of the day.
Today, or should I say this evening, has been one of those days where I ended up getting lost in the internet. Have you ever had one of those days? You know, your simply checking your timeline on Facebook, and wind up clicking on a video link. You notice an interesting looking link on the right side of the page, and click to see what that’s about. Next thing you know, you’ve been watching videos for hours, and have found 2 new bands that you now love. :)
That’s kinda what happened to me. Tonight, I have been exposed to Lindsey Sterling and Pentatonix. WOW! First of all, what amazing musicians! Secondly, what amazingly different styles of music they are.
Lindsey Sterling (http://www.lindseystirling.com/) is a classically trained violinist, who plays with electronic sounds and dances with reckless abandonment. She is fan-tas-tic. I will absolutely be getting some of her music as soon as possible.
Pentatonix (http://ptxofficial.com/) is a group of out-of-this-world vocal musicians, who harmonize without using instruments, only their voices. Double wow. These guys are crazy good, and again, I want their stuff ASAP. :)
After doing some basic research on these two artists, I came to realize that they both got their start on TV talent shows. Who knew!? Lindsey Sterling was on America’s Got Talent, and Pentatonix won The Sing-Off. Lucky me, today I was introduced to them, and can now enjoy the music that they create. :)
There may be a lot of crap (for lack of a better word) on the internet nowadays, but it’s days like today that I can really appreciate the good ole World Wide Web. Social media may be crippling our youth from actual social interactions, but with it, we can also share things of great inspiration and beauty. We can expose people to music/art/ideas that they possibly never would have witnessed without the internet. For that, I am grateful for technology and the connections that can be made.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to share MY love of photography to “strangers”. Although, even with that, I beginning to make new friends and share memories.

Today was pretty quiet. I had an interview today, so my morning was filled with getting ready for that. After lunch, I enjoyed a nice afternoon nap.
This picture was thanks to Kroger. :) Ah, grocery store pictures. I really like the colors of this one.
Not much to say today. Hopefully tomorrow I will be more creative.

Like looking into a crystal ball, this sunflower has a lot of secrets to tell. Unlike fortune telling…I have to wait to see it’s future. My roommate has planted some gigantic sunflowers in the yard, and I love checking in to see how much it’s grown. So far, it’s taller than me and still growing. I can’t wait to take more pictures of it, as the flower starts to bloom.
I really love the textures of the leaves. It looks prickly…but it’s actually quite soft. Very interesting plant.
And look!…Larry’s back! :)

I decided to take a trip to Jones Bridge Park today in hopes of getting some inspiration from the good ole Chattahoochee. I did…and didn’t. I was thinking that there would be more of an opportunity to photograph interesting things at this park…but I seemed stumped. It may be that it was a Sunday afternoon and the park was VERY full. It may be that I was not properly dressed to get up close and personal with the river. It may be some underlying apprehension to push myself into uncomfortable situations to get a good shot. Not sure.
Either way, it was hot and I didn’t feel like I was getting what I wanted so I left and headed to a place I knew I would get something I liked. I went back to The Forum where I had taken some great flower shots recently. Success. This brightened my spirit and I ended the evening with some delicious Chipotle. Yum!
The funny part of today’s adventure was that I actually did get some good shots at Jones Bridge Park. My photo of the day came from there! :) Along with some others that I’d love to alter and see what I can get. It’s all a matter of perspective I suppose.

This is Larry. I met him after a rain shower today. My photo journey started with me sitting on my car, taking pictures of the branch that hangs down over my trunk. I was playing around with the macro lens, trying to figure it out, when it started to sprinkle. Oooh…maybe I can get some good droplet shots. Nope. Not today. I headed inside, myself covered in water droplets, without a good photo and hoped to get something later.
After a few hours, I headed back outside to see if I could find something interesting. I went around looking at the different branches, trying to find an image, and ended up at the bush around the mailbox. I was getting some fun droplet shots when I noticed him. He was a little hesitant in his steps due to all the water (I’m assuming of course), but he didn’t run away at the sight of my camera. Lucky for me! He seems to be saying “Hello” in this picture, and it just makes me smile. It’s his eyes…so cute.
