Year 2/Day 204

Year 2 - Day 204

I finally got around to going to one of those wine and paint places today.  I dragged along Michelle and we were determined to have a great time.

Success!!  :)  What a blast this was!  I was worried that my painting would look awful, but I think it turned out great.  Michelle’s looked awesome too!  The neatest thing about this class was that everyone was creating a similar painting, but each one looked different.  They all had a bit of the person’s personality in it which really gave each piece a unique characteristic.

I love this!  I can’t wait to do another one!  :)

Year 2/Day 198

Year 2 - Day 198

Will had to run some errands downtown for the estate and instead of trying to hassle with parking I just dropped him off and drove around.  While driving I found an interesting place to stop and take some pictures and walk around for a little bit.  It was very peaceful and quite.

We also decided to have one cheat night and had dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse.  I figured this would be a good place to get something kind of healthy.  I got a small filet steak, salad with raspberry vinaigrette (on the side), and broccoli.  We didn’t get any appetizers or desserts and I only had one piece of bread.

…But…

I still managed to feel gross afterwards.  Bloated and greasy.  Yuck.  Not the greatest idea.

Year 2 - Day 195

One thing I love about cooking with fresh fruits and veggies is how colorful everything is.  It’s hard to stop taking pictures so I can actually cook the stuff.

Year 2 - Day 194

Spent a little time outside in the cold taking photos of flowers.  Didn’t stay too long though…cause it was cold! :)

Year 2 - Day 192

Today was awesome.  My favorite poet, Anis Mojgani, hosted an Open Studio at Serenbe.  He had been nominated to attend a month long artist residency at Serenbe and today he opened up his studio to folks to come check out what he’s been working on.  It was a like a little sneak peak into his creative mind.  Simply. Amazing.  We talked with him for a little bit and purchased another copy of his new book.  He was kind enough to sign it and take a picture with me.  :)

What an amazing experience.  He is so down to earth, yet magical and inspiring.  He also mentioned that he was hoping to do a reading towards the end of February…which I will do whatever I can to make sure we attend!

Year 2 - Day 185

This showed up today.  :)  Will actually had these sent to the hotel in North Charleston while we were there this weekend, to say thank you.  Unfortunately, I had already checked out of the hotel before they arrived.  It’s so cute!

Some of my goodies from Berkeley, CA.

Year 2/Day 156

Year 2 - Day 156

We took a road trip to Berkeley, CA today.  Just the two of us.  I found a list of “fun things to do” around the area online and found that near the Berkeley campus was a neat hippie shopping district.  Aside from the crappy, grey weather it was awesome.  We found out that they not only had another Rasputin store but also Amoeba Music.  Talk about trying to restrain ourselves from spending hours there and tons of money today!  :)

We also found a really cute metaphysical shop and I got a beautiful piece of labradorite.  Plus the clerk was really cute and nice to talk to.

Got hungry…and stopped for a yummy slice of pizza from Fat Slice.  We also got some ridiculous chili cheese fries before we headed home.

It was a great day.

The sky was beautiful today.  I love moments like this.  Things feel so peaceful and calm.

Year 2 - Day 134

Headed back home today.  Well, for a couple days at least.  Then we’re back to South Carolina again.
