Year 2/Day 25

It has taken 3 (three!!) days to go over the syllabi for my 2 classes.  This just further convinces me that this semester is going to be a beast.

The key – organization (and an occasional glass of rum and coke)

Today was the first day of my last semester of nursing school.  Wow.  It’s actually almost over.

I really don’t even believe it yet.  Especially with all the worries I have about the difficulties of this semester.  One day at a time though.

I had drinks with a friend tonight after school, and it was great to spend some time together and relax.  It’s so nice having someone to be able to talk to and feel comfortable with.  I’m so grateful to have such a wonderful friend.

Sometimes I wonder if you don’t pick your friends, instead they pick you.  Even if you’re not so sure at first.  One day you turn around and realize you’re going to miss the crap out of them once they leave.

I’ve found that my closest friends are ones I can be my realist with.  I’m an emotional being, this I know.  I’ve been told I wear my emotions on my sleeve.  If I’m upset, I show it.  If I’m happy, you know it.

The day I realized you were my friend, and not just another coworker, was the day after I hated every part of you.  Now, in retrospect I realized that I didn’t actually hate you…I was just extremely frustrated with you.  You are a nut and that is why I can call you my friend.

Good luck girl.  Soak up that Florida sunshine, but don’t eat the corn.

Reflections.

They give an opportunity to look at your world with a different perspective, or see something you may have been overlooking.

Something about sunsets soothes me.  My favorite spot was sitting by the ocean at sunset.  The peaceful sound of water hitting nearby rocks and splashing up on shore.  The smell of salt in the air as a breeze brushes my face.  The extraordinary colors that the sky makes just after the sun sets.

I love watching the pinks, oranges, and purples in the west blend with the dark blues of the east.  Add in some heat lighting in the dark skies of summer and I’m at peace.
