Year 2/Day 1

image

Well, the 365 Days of Inspiration only lasted 2 days.  Ha.  Oh, well.

I decided to stop doing it because it wasn’t fun for me.  Finding things that inspired was fun but having to write about it seemed more like work to me.  I wanted to let people know about my inspirations, but I didn’t like writing it.

I’ve never been keen on writing in the first place, and having to narrate someone else’s journey wasn’t for me.

I loved narrating my journey.  I really enjoyed the 365 Day project this past year.  Some days were tough, but the end result is amazing.  I can’t wait to see what this year brings!

So begins Year 2 of 365 Days!

Searching…

image

It’s “been said” that it takes a month or so to create a new habit, and through my 365 day project I had hoped to instill creativity into my everyday existence.

And I did, for that year.  After the 365 day mark passed I had a continued desire to keep “doing”, but it only took a few weeks for that to subside.  I became consumed with the everyday mundane.  Lazy, busy, stressed, forgetful, whatever word you want to choose.

Sure, there were days where I thought to myself, “You need a new project Brandi!”
And I’d answer, “Yeah, but what?!”

This question has been heavy on my mind for the last few days.  Searching the Internet for answers…I found none.  There were plenty of neat ideas, but not what I was looking for.  I knew the search would be easier if I knew what it was I was looking for…but I didn’t.

Until today.

A new, year long project starts August 1st, 2015.  I’m calling it, 365 Days of Inspiration.

Everyday I will find something that inspires me.  A poem, a song, artwork, nature, a person, anything goes.  I found through my last project that hard rules limit my creative spirit.

I want a framework, but no boundaries.  I want to see how far my inspiration can go, and hopefully inspire some other people along the way.

Join me will you?  It’s going to be interesting, quirky, and most of all inspiring!! :)

Day 365!

So.  This is Charlie.

It’s been 1 full year today.  365 days of photos.  365 days…wow.  I actually did it.

It’s been a long year full of many memories and many changes.  I am so grateful to of had a place to voice myself.

To those of you who have been with me from the start, thank you.

To those of you who have joined me along the way, thank you as well.

I’ll end the year with this:
6 things I’ve learned over the past 365 days

1) Everyday, is a lot.

2) I love documenting my life.
This is something I’ve known for awhile, but rarely take the time to actually do.

3) Create for yourself – not others.
I’m not doing these projects for other people.  Some days I just don’t have the energy to get a “good” picture…and that’s ok.

4) I do like positive feedback, but I don’t need it.

5) Listen to your gut, and be adventurous.  Don’t be too scared to go for it, you might surprise yourself.

6) There is something interesting everywhere…you just have to be willing to take the time to look for it .

Thanks again, and till next time! :)

Day 364

I was driving home with my windows down, music up, enjoying the beautiful summer evening and thought to myself…Wow, tomorrow is the very last day of this amazing photo journey.

I decided to head over to Jones Bridge Park before going home, in hopes of getting one last “great shot” before this collection is done.

Man, am I glad I did.  The sun was setting, it wasn’t too busy, and the scenery was gorgeous.  Plus, there was this misty fog over the Chattahoochee River that was breathtaking.

I love evenings that feel like this.

Day 363

Mmm…sweet potatoes…

Day 362

Lots of homework/studying.  It’s a ton of work being designated the “leader”.  At least for me because I want everything to be right…and not everyone does their part.

Day 361

Jeez…we were soooooo slow this morning.  It was like a ghost town.  Luckily I was able to pick up a night shift, and ended up making some money.

Too bad I spent it all at the grocery store though…haha.

Day 360

Not much to say tonight…

Day 359

I love this photo.  It reminds me of a bright watercolor painting.  These are the flowers that Will bought me, along with some cupcakes and dinner.

He’s so sweet! :)

Day 358

Really?  A panic button?  These things are real?!

Will noticed this in the stairwell of the parking garage outside my doctors office.  What. The. Hell?

Luckily, we didn’t need to use it.  ;)  But that big red button does beckon you to push it…
