I finished my first quilt today, from start to finish! I’m so happy that it turned out well.
It’s a small baby quilt for a friend at work. She loved it! :)

My first large quilt is finally done!! I do have to give credit to Melissa Phillips at CO-Z-Quilts (https://www.facebook.com/CoZQuilts). She did an amazing job finishing it for me.
I was able to get the piecing done, the whole thing basted, and the pattern drawn on before I started struggling with the actually quilting process and setting it aside for almost 2 years.
A few weeks ago, I pulled it back out again and decided to have someone finish it for me.
I am so pleased with the way it turned out! I can’t wait to finish one completely by myself now!

As the days get closer to an end, for this project, I get sadder each day. It reminds me of when I set out to fold 1,000 paper cranes, and did.
After I finally completed my goal, I was lost. My routine, how I filled my free time, was now empty. What I decided then was to fold another 1,000 cranes, and did.
So I’m asking myself, now what? Do I do the same thing again this time. Do I commit to another 365 days?
Or do I dive in further and ask myself why, why do I feel sad that it’s almost over. I should feel excited that I’m about to complete an amazing adventure, and enjoy the results.
I’ve realized that I love moments like tonight. Time taken out of my ordinary, everyday routine life to look within or ask questions. The photography is fun too don’t get me wrong, but I think I enjoy the blog aspect way more than I realized.
I’ve never been much or a writer, although I’ve always wanted/attempted to keep a journal. This has been, by far, my most successful journal. And it’s public, eeks!
I guess we’ll see where this journey leads me, and what’s around the corner.

So, today was a “long shift” day at work…and boy oh boy was it!
I. Am. Beat.
Because of that, today’s pic is an oldie, but a goodie. This was taken up in Chattanooga on Mother’s day.
I love this picture of the two of us! :)

I’ve always loved having a wall of inspirations/memories. Photos of good times and people , quotes that make me feel something, and all things creative.
I don’t always have time to “be creative”, but I’m always drawn to it. I guess that’s why I started this project in the first place…to allow myself at least a few minutes a day to “be creative”.
I may not always succeed, in my opinon, but I’ve managed to do something for 346 days now!!
That’s something.

Worked a double today.
Lunch was slow, but dinner was pretty good. Fire & the Knife played tonight, which was awesome!

I had an eye appointment today. Everything checked out fine, and I didn’t have to pay anything. Yay!
Wasn’t quite fun driving home with dilated pupils…but I managed.

Baseball time!
My wonderful boyfriend got us great seats on the first base side just past the dugout, 3rd row to the Braves vs Rays game.
I didn’t know who to cheer for! We had a great time and the Braves won.
